this is probably a stupid question, but can you add voice acting using the sound engine? I highly doubt it, but I’m just curious.

From my understanding, NES Maker doesn't support samples, so it wouldn't work.

NESmaker uses GGsound as its sound engine which does support samples, but NESmaker's modified version of GGsound has sample functionality disabled.

Samples also take up a vast amount of ROM space to be stored, so using it for voice acting is not a very plausible idea for an actual playable game.

I tried this once, I couldn't do it because it seems that NESMaker can't handle DPCM samples yet... Maybe in the next update?
