Hi there!
Heres a little wip topic of my first game on NESmaker.

Started this project a month ago with the intuition to make
something playable for me and my friends gamenight tonight.
And with some (a lot ) of help from you here on the forum
this is now reality.
The demo is right now a two level platformer with start screen, pre-level screens and a game over screen.

The plot of the game:
When they dug up the atari landfill in New Mexico, Evil Otto escapes and planing to take over the World with help from the evil bastards of videogames. Its now up to you, Pinky, the great flamingo to stop his evil plans. 😊

Its a simple scrolling platformer in the spirit of Super Mario Bros.
Its going to stay with simple graphics and physics just to make a little fun game to play and to learn the basics of NESmaker.

Really big thanks to Dale_coop for all the help struggling with scripts and other issues i had making this demo.
Also big thanks to Raftronaut who made the game to life with some progress music and sfx.

Hope you like it..
More to come in the future here.. stay tuned...

-Demo in the "Finished Games & Demos" section of the forum. -

Awseome, axbakk. Great little game, only play the begining (while testing ;)) but already think it's very fun and the graphics are great!
And having your own game a real NES cart is priceless, right?!
Enjoy that moment <3

Find out yesterday When we played it on a NES that it had some issues.. 😊 (and slowdowns, but it were played on a PAL machine so what to expect.. tried the famicom but Then i got graphic issues.. maybe famicom does not like mapper 30 games)

Search for NES Unrom 512 PCB or Mapper 30 PCB and you will find the PCB I am using (or similar). This is new parts not from old carts. :D You will need to program your own eprom chip containing your game if you use this metod, INL boards you can just flash and reflash if you got their hardware.

Cheers // Axbakk

Thanks for this info Axbakk. I do plan to use this same method as I already have an ancient eprom flasher. Just trying to avoid buying things I dont need like the infinate nes lives cart flasher thingie. Really helpful, I'll have a look with those search terms. I found various colours of shells on aliexpress but they don't seem to sell pcbs... or maybe they do if I put in the proper search words lol.. cheers.

Yeah on ali/ebay etc.. you can find shells in various colours but for the pcb i think not.. maybe ebay. I got mine from a homebrew supplier here in sweden that haw bought pcbs directly from an pcb factory. :) cant help you on that. google is your friend. :D
