Hi Dale/Everyone,
I just downloaded the new 4.5.6 and have been trying to complete the Maze game basic tutorial and so far everything works until I test the game. the graphics and music load, however I can not move my player. The virtual controller icon indicates the button press but nothing happens. I think there is a missing step once you import the input links.
Any suggestions? :)

Just did a random test on the keyboard and I got him to move... Apparently the arrow keys are controller 2, and A,S,W,D is player one.

Yeah, the default settings are a little weird like that. This can all be changed in the emulator though in "Options" then "Input". I set it to use one controller (instead of two) with the arrows keys for d-pad inputs and B and A set to X and Z respectively. I find it much more efficient for testing.

Oh, I also use Return and Shift for Start and Select, respectively.

Dale, do you know if there's any chance of more official tutorials coming our way? I'm currently on the advanced Adventure game tutorial but I'm aware that I'm starting to run out of these. I can't help but notice that in some of the videos an "RPG" module is visible in Joe's list.

No flipping way! I've been begging him for quite sometime now for a RPG module. He told me it'd be incredibly difficult. I'd be over the moon if he released a RPG tutorial...

I wouldn't hold your breath though. The tutorials seem to appear with each new verison of NESmaker. Perhaps he was trying to put something together at one point and it didn't pan out?

The simple RPG module is not ready... I think it will be something similar he uses for Gamer Quest.

I'd imagine that any RPG module would probably be incredibly tough to make, but I'd be interested to see how it turns out. I'm well aware that this is essentially an engine for action games first and foremost.

So, I did the beginner Scrolling Platformer tutorial. I came back today to do the Intermediate, and the links are broken on the 'Learn' page, only for that section though. I attempted to track down the video on Vimeo, but their search doesn't work very well, and even browsing Joe Granato's page I couldn't find it.

Just letting you know...

Hello. I just picked up NESMaker and have started going through the first 12 Days of NESmas video tutorial. I'm following along but encountered a slight issue. The Color Picker doesn't pop up for me when I click on the Sub Group. This happens right around the 22 minute mark in the video.

You need to do a right-click on a color in the sun group, in order to have the color picker to open.
(if doesn't work... make sure it's not caused by one of the settings in your Windows, like if you have a display % different than 100%)
