[4.5.9] Arcade Platformer Concept

The first project I did with NESMaker was an Arcade Platformer jumping & climbing puzzle game. I'm going to revisit that concept, but this time with a castle motif. It will have the same fixed-screen format, countdown timer, and fall-damage though! Here's my very first concept for the new project:

I like it, really like the minimalistic art style to, lol I kinda be doing something similar to although with melee and wall jumps, btw do you need someone for music this time? Or gonna keep it silent, always down to write some music for others :3

Thanks! The art is from an asset pack I purchased from itch.io user jamiecross. I don't know them at all, but their work is particularly nostalgic for me, from pre-NES games I once played.

I'm definitely going to use music this time. I want a particular mood and texture, but I don't quite know what yet. I'll definitely need help translating *anything* I record into FamiTracker, though.

Okay, well I’d be down to do some translating music as long as I can see what your doing ok an instrument or in another thing you use to write music, I could also try making some original songs of my own if you want aswell

Just do demonstrate the true power of NESMaker - I went from a mock-up to something that works on original NES hardware in about 2 hours and zero code.

Lol yeah, it’s an amazing tool, although it dose seem their is something wrong with your color palette, you seem to be using multiple color palettes although only 1 would be enough to hold all the colors you needed in you mock up

I've organized the subpalettes by depth for planning purposes. I haven't gotten around to using more colors yet.

I would be grateful for community music contributions. I will make this game and all my original work on it free to forum members. If you would be willing to write or suggest music that's also free to the forums, I would like two for this concept demo:

A sad, empty theme for the castle levels, and a hope-of-discovery theme for the caverns under the castle. I would like the tracks to be more ambient than melodic, like some of the original Metroid music. I will not be picky otherwise. Just point me to a famitracker file and I will use it in my builds.

Thanks again!

Here is the file, I tried to keep it as something that can be sorta in the background

Yes it definitely dose, it brings sanity to endless coding sessions and so many errors :3
