I see what enemy you were talkin bout batsy.I eased up on some 4 enemy screens and changed
the way big blob works and shoots after you hit him.Made the bat boss slightly easier.Updated the original post here with
advice and warnings.Lastly Instead of selling my game its jut free for everyone,
but if you want a cart, go to ocdreproductions.com

Hi mouse spirit. I'm writing an article about NESMaker for a zine, and I'd love to write a column on your game in a sort of showcase of games made using the software. Could I do that? I'll send you a copy of the final article.

@patrickb have you checked the "Finished Games" section already ? A LOT of great games there ;)
Oh don't worry. I'm covering Kubo 3 and Doodle World, but I only have room for four games, and I really think Almika is worth talking about. Maybe if I replaced Mystic Origins with something else...

...could you suggest something I missed? I'm predominately interested in finished games rather than demos.

A lot of great games here in this section (Almika is good of course, and "FLEA", "Light From Within", "Nix: The Paradox Relic", "Space Raft", "XenoCreeps" "Turtle Rescue: unhatched", "Nezumi", "Harry the dwarf", and one of my favs "Tower of Turmoil") ... and more games to come (which are still in WIP like Mystic Searches, Dungeons & Doomknights, Dimension Shift, ...)

Heavily updated the ROM. Feel free to download the updated version. Now hopefully this fixed most everything.
I have played through the whole game severaltimes, so it has been quite a task to debuga andfix as it needs to be played aaaaall the way through to be fully tested which can be a big pain just to test .But, i think its more solid than before.

i can definitly say its better in fcuex
Awesome. It's a design decision in emulators I guess. Like how they handle sound for their particular emulators.
Or its also different across the different hardware like fami, nes, toploader, fds.

I Downloaded this a few days ago. I'm playing it on a homebrewed Wii running FCE Ultra 3.4.7. I'm really liking it. The music is amazing. I dig the art style. Enjoying the game. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks for all your feedback. This game can be really tough at times. What was so great about those games from 1990, is that they were all impossibly hard, until you played them over and over again, hopefully getting better . Eventually understanding where spikes will be so you can have a 100/100 chance ,as long as you pay attention and remember.
As for knockback, it has always been annoying and always will be.
I'm glad you found it challenging.
Like I said before, for those of you that didn't grow up beating nintendo games ,especially without continuing or losing lives, this game will be very challenging for you.
As for those who are really good at NES games, the RNG will get you. This game isn't meant to be like other games and I'm glad you noticed any differences. As if it was like all the other games you've played, you may have beaten it already!

almika the star rider densetsu gaiden our hero 1.jpg

Almika is available at ocdreproductions.com! Heres some art to celebrate!

For many reasons, Almika wasnt actually available on a cart really until now.
Even though the game was finished a while ago.

I did make the game slightly easier in spots. Overall i think its tough, but balanced.

But for many, it may be wise to play it with save states truly.

Either way, it's available on cart for the NES.

Sure. So I did it in 4.1.5. And used some photoshop for ease, not sure if that matters. But I actually took a picture of a favorite character of mine, and literally traced it to get my outline, as I wanted this pose and suck at drawing. I filled in the rest with solid color and tried to form a face, hair, and bikini.
For the coloring, on the sword you can see it's not perfect but I thought it looked like blue shine on the sword anyway.
I positioned it in such a way to be in 32 blocks so the colors would look right but sometimes you have it deal with the best you can do on the given situation.

Lastly I scribbled ALMIKA real quik but actually liked it.
If I did not explain very well, please let me know and I will try a different way.
