Bonjour to all retro games lovers!

Hello everyone!
I discovered NesMaker a couple of week ago and I love that project so much that I couldn't resist to sign in and meet the community!
I will only be lurking and playing the games for a while though because even if I am very interested in NesMaker (I will buy a licence eventually that's for sure) I already have too many projects to finish before starting learning a new tool.

So a few words about myself:
I'm from France but I live in Canada, and I always wanted to make games. When I was younger I tried RPG Maker but I was repelled by the complexity of it at the time (and the english barrier too). I really embraced the hobbyist game dev activity a few years ago thanks to GameMaker. Last year I switched to Godot and I started Pico 8 a few months ago. Pico 8 is really fun indeed however, it will not be my favorite tool in the long run because of too much hard coding.

I love learning new stuff and if I could I would try every game engine tool! In the future, I plan to try GB Studio too, maybe go back to RPG Maker for a small project (thanks Steam sales!) and give a try to that open source Wolf RPG Editor as well.

I also love pixel art, and I think that working with strong restrictions is both interesting and challenging. Thanks to mobile technology I can be pixelarting almost anytime and anywhere, so I think I'll create some pixel art for the time being as I am experimenting with the NES palette and limitations.

If you are interested, I have an itchio page here!
And some 8bit chiptunes over there!

You are welcome to try my games and leave feedback if you wish so!
For now I want to finish my Pico8 game and hopefully soon I will be making Nes games!

Cheers y'all !

You seem to make a ton of arcade style games, all your games seem to based on score, which is not a bad thing but I feel you would have a better time making games if you attempted different types of games, like an adventure game where you travel trough dungeons and find treasures or if you wanna keep with the score based things then maybe have a platform game where you need to get a certainn number of items before moving on to the next level

Hi Logana! Thanks for the welcome and taking time to have a look at my games!
Yeah, most of my games are gamejam games, thus not necessarily balanced and too difficult, plus a lot of them have been made during the 1 hour game jam sessions as Gamemaker practicing, so their scope is pretty limited.
I'm currently working on Anila on Pico8 which will be a platformer with a bit more of exploration (even though I'll have to make huge sacrifice because of me learning the importance of sprites restrictions the hard way haha). However development is very slow as I have to mainly focus on hardcode for that project.

Bienvenue @Imogia
Glad to have you here.
NESmaker is kinda like RPG maker... but better ;)
Can't wait to see what you will create with NM.
