Found this great review for Carpet Shark that’s in the Catalan language at (pixelats.cat) It made me laugh 🤣

Google translation:

“Little dances, I bring you a really good game !! A few days ago, as every day, I found myself "enjoying" those silly five minutes I have every morning while waiting for the train to go to work, and since I had nothing better to do, I devoted myself to looking at my Instagram. Among posts by kittens, koalas and peoples of Catalonia, I saw a post by the only youtuber I follow half actively, MetalJesusRocks, where he said this:

It basically says that there is a game that you are a shark that lives on a carpet and that the goal is to eat the people who pass by. He also says he wants a physical copy of the game, blah blah blah. Eager to know more about this game, it didn’t take me even 10 seconds to open youtube (the wikipedia of those who don’t want to read) to search for more information.

The plot is pretty geeky, as it’s a shark that lived happily in the ocean, until one day a man caught it, stole its soul, and put it… on a carpet! And what happens, then, that this soul feeds on people, and how do you get people to pass over the carpet? So putting the apartment for rent and making visits !!

The mechanics of the game are not very difficult, as you will basically have to move around the carpet trying to bite as much as you can and prevent them from hitting you from behind (it could be the definition of an orgy). There are few screens, but these games we already know are easy to play but hard to master.

In the gameplay that the creator has uploaded to youtube, he explains the plot, where the idea comes from… and leaves the link, among other things, of the rom. Below is the link, and I encourage you to spend 5 minutes on this poor, poor shark !!”

It’s been 1 year since I released my first NES homebrew Carpet Shark! Time flies! It started out as a hobby during the pandemic, but it has become so much more. From being in magazines, YouTube videos, and making new friends around the world. Thanks to everybody that has supported it! 🙌🏻🔳🦈

Some early concept sketches for Carpet Shark. Don’t mind the chicken scratch, terrible drawings, and notes everywhere. My time is limited and I try to work fast 🤣

All physical copies of Carpet Shark are officially SOLD OUT! Which means both of my NES homebrews are completely out of stock 😵🙌🏻

Carpet Shark was $20 more than Plummet Challenge Game and also had 2.5 times the copies that Plummet Challenge Game did. Which aided in it taking longer. Phew! We made it though!

If you didn’t get a copy.. No worries.. The rom file is and always be free to download 🔳🦈

As a critic, here's my summary on "Carpet Shark."

The idea behind this game is one of the most original that I've seen, I praise the rather memorable music, and this would be a great party game.
My only criticism is the level of difficulty, albeit the fact that the obstacles are introduced properly as the game progresses.

If I could describe this game in two words, it would be: "strangely fun."

Final Score: 8.5/10

(That trailer was awesome, by the way.)

@August Renders Thank you for the honest review! It was my first NESMaker game and I wanted to base it on one of our movies that we made since it was the one movie that was SO out there. “Strangely fun,” is exactly what I was going for!

Movie editing is another one of my loves. That’s why I always make trailers/commercials for my games too 🙌🏻

How cool is this?? The creator of Nix built an arcade cabinet at his store with a bunch of awesome NES homebrews in it to play for free!… Including Carpet Shark, Plummet Challenge Game, and The Arm Wrestling Classic! 🪙
