Cartridge Flasher (patching a existing game)

So I have the INL cart flasher, I wanted to know if I could use this to patch a NES cartridge (I wanted to patch in the original version of Golgo 13 onto a existing Golgo 13 cart)? or does this only work with the NESmaker mapper 30 cartridge? Someone took the bits that had been removed from the North American version of the game back into the game.

As far as I know it's not solely for UNROM512 boards. There's some stuff on NesDev about it but it looks troublesome for MMC1 boards (if it's even possible?).

Another option if INL flasher won't do it. - remove the PRG and CHR chips. Flash the version you want with an EPROM programmer. That way you can keep the originals in case it doesn't work.

It's not something I've ever had the need to do but I've seen a few YouTube videos about making repros that will probably help you. Try John Riggs channel.

Hmm, I watched his video but I don't really want to pick up a chip flasher. Trying to avoid soldering and that. Was hoping I could just plug the bad boy in and flash it. I could always give it a go. Not like it's a expensive game or anytjing.

I think NesDev is your best bet for info on repro type stuff. I was under the impression the board had to have some sort of logic chip to make it flashable? Not an expert.

This is the board... looks complicated

I'll pop in and ask there, I thought since I was going to use the same board that the game came on I'd be okay.

Some chips aren't reprogrammable. I'm pretty certain you can't put a normal cart in and flash it but I could be wrong.

What about an everdrive flash cart and put your golko 13 cart shell on that? Not the same exactly but you'd keep your original.

Let me know how it goes.

That's more or less the answer I got over on NESdev, bummer too. It's not worth picking up a flash cart over , just figured it'd be neat if I could flash some games I have with cut content and patch them in. Thanks for the help though.
