Export and Test stuck in a black screen

I am new in doing this kind of things so I need help, when I want to test the game I am doing (I am watching the side scroller tutorial) when I want to test it the emulator it stays in a black screen, I am using the Mesen emulator, I also have the option to skip the start screen but it still doesn't work, what should I do?
