I need to start to learn how to write songs and sound effects for my game. I noticed that FamiTracker has not updated since May 23rd 2015. FamiStudio's last update was on November 16 2025.

I know nothing about writing the song, but is FamiTracker still recommended for NESmaker?

yes Famitracker is THE tool you need to use. (we don't recommand FamiStudio, it will produce music data that tis too heavey or not 100% compatible with nesmaker).
