I'm currently watching the 12 Days Of NESmas. I'm sold already. On video 3 of the playlist but I'm totally going to make a game. Going to order the hardware now. Figured I'd come to the forums to see what I should buy.

I know I need a programmer and like 7 or 8 blank carts. I'd like to make a game as a gift for some friends this year. Where can I get programable blanks and NES boxes? And I need to find photoshop templates for printing box and cart graphics.

Glad you joined us. NESmaker is very fun... follow all the tutorial, and then you're ready to make your own small game with your own graphics.

For the hardware... the official nesmaker kit (flasher + blank cart) can be bought here:

But due to the chip shortage... it's sold out and nobody really know when it will available again. But Joe (nesmaker creator) said on the Facebook group that he will try to have some for sale on the official website... one day.

If you can manage to get the flasher... you can also buy blank carts mapper30 vertical mirroring from BrokeStudio:

Thank you @dale_coop, I don't yet understand the horizontal vs vertical mirroring option. But still going through the getting started videos. Will definitely buy some carts wherever I can get them asap. I figure I have have a little time for that programmer to get in stock before Christmas. I'll follow the facebook group now. Thank you

NESmaker generates a "vertical mirroring" mapper30 NES rom. Just remember that when you buy your blank carts.
