Heads Up For Sound on NES Hardware

Just wanted to say that FCEUX seemed to be right on with sound and music
compared to a real NES for Almika (my game), but MESSEN seemed to sound off quite a bit. Just in my
personal experience here recently., you may yield other results.

Which NES model do you have?
If I recall correctly, the later model (dogbone controller) has a slightly different clockspeed. It could be that FCEUX and Mesen emulate different models.
I dunno if that's enough to mess with the sound, though.

I played on a toaster and a toploader. Messen just doesnt play it exactly correct.
Its close, but so different i actually didnt like my own song.Feel free to DL my game
and try yourself if you have time.

Not sure if its "choppy" or just EQ'd kinda off.Its similar to be sure, but off.
On the NES' it sounded good, especially on a lil CRT i have . But ofcourse
there would be a speaker difference there, but as i said it did sound exactly like FCEUX.
I'll admit, my songs go way high and way low. That may make a difference in different
emulators. Its especially apparent after my title screen.Possibly i should download a new MESSEN.Mine maybe old.

Edit:
I can hear it......It doesnt play all the notes, but its like everything is cranked up
and sounds are fighting for dominance.

The original hardware's circuitry causes the sound to be filtered (high/lowpass), and this filtering differs between models (Famicom, Twin Famicom, Frontloader, Toploader/AV Famicom, etc). I've just compared the two emulators with your game, and my guess is that FCEUX applies a lowpass filter to the audio while Mesen does not. It's the high frequency range which tends to make the sounds "fight for dominance" as you've described. On top of that, Mesen seems to be a bit louder as well.
