Hi. Longtime gamer who has a ton of ideas and would love to make one a reality. I'm getting into NES Maker after getting the Development Kit for Christmas. I see some of the tutorials on the website. I've watched a few but they seem to jump more into the middle as opposed to someone wanting to learn morre about what everything in the program does. Is there a best tutorial to watch first or a certain order to watch in? TYIA!

The way the tutorials are laid out under the learn tab of the new 8-bit heroes website has you start with modules and learn by doing - as each module is configured differently it helps to start a few projects and test them out before diving under the hood with a big dream. There's also a lot of cross learning - things that are done in the Maze game module are required knowledge for every other module. I'm new here as well - and I can tell you that MOST of your questions will have answers that come up in the tutorials. Once you've seen a few of the basic one's you can start looking at the intermediate and hard modules related to the kind of game you actually want to make.

Thanks. I'll check out Maze game. I jumped right to shooter as that's what I'm interested in and felt like I was missing a few things.

Oh, I forgot...
Don't hesitate to take notes while watching them.
Those tutorials are my bible. I watch them often when I don't remember a setting/detail.
