Hey All!

I am rekindling a childhood dream of creating my own video games.

I just read through I am Error by Nathan Altice (highly recommended), and I'm working my way through the NES Maker Documentation. Honestly I love even just going through the tutorials and learning the fundamentals of how NES games are constructed. I've lost track of how many times I've said "oh that is SO COOL" to myself as I go through all of it.

It's such a totally niche thing, like I imagine most people today who grew up without the NES or SNES looking at ASM or bitmaps and thinking my god, why would you want to do this? But when you get it you get it, and it's super fascinating.

Looking forward to sharing and making some great game stuff with you all!

hey welcome @DraculaTreeForest

Glad to have you here with us.
NESmaker is a great tool to start making NES games.
Don't skip the tutorial visode from the offical website, it's important to llearn the basis how to setup your projects/objects/screens/...
- the 12 days of Xmas series
- all the module specific videos (you can skip the "beginner" ones, you won't really learn anything from them)

Have fun !
