Hi everyone!

I'm Daniel and I've been wanting to create NES games since I was little. I'm a freelance graphic designer, and proficient in illustration, game art, logo design, web design and Japanese. I was very happy to hear about NES Maker and so far it seems like a great tool! I think the hardest part is the learning curve, and I'm sure when I need to learn scripting for custom things it may get harder, but I'm looking forward to making my first game. Glad to be here!

Welcome in the NesMaker community Daniel,

I'm working with Nesmaker since December 2019, and today, I'm learning again some new stuff.
Here some advice I can give to you.

1. Listen and follow to all tutorials at https://www.thenew8bitheroes.com/learn
2. Even if you are interested to make a Adventure game like Zelda, you can listen to other videos that is not your start module (like Platformer, MazaGame, MetroidVania, etc)
Because there are some features in there that you can incorporate in your game with some adjustment.

Like Joe Granato said a few times, start small and make your first project a test game.

Have fun !!!!

HI Subotai,

Thank you, I appreciate that. I'm blown away by the games people are making and look forward to making my own, too. I'll continue to watch all types of game making videos. Thanks!

Welcome @skribblets
Glad to have you here with us.
Yeah, the learning curve is steep. But following the tutorials, all of them (maybe twice, with using your own gfx the second time). Is a great start.
Don't hesitate to browse the forum for example of "scripts" and "community tutorials".
And feel free to ask questions, share your ideas, projects, ... anything you want. :)
We're a nice friendly community. It's your home, too.

Can't wait to see what you will create with NESmaker.
