Im from the uk, This is all new to me, I have had the software for sometime now but only really started doing anything with it yesterday and managed to start my first screen, but then after I did I was reading some stuff and it said only use your own creations not any other Ips. Oh bummer I really wanted to do a demake of Silent Hill (I know about soundless mountain which is a very short demo based on silent hill 2 but I wanted to demake the first game) I know I cant use other peoples Ips for profit and that was not my intention, However as the the person who created soundless mountain changed the name and never had his work halted by konami do you think it would be ok for me to try and parody silent hill somehow but still keep the map stuctures and item pickup places in tact to the original game as much as possible I.E Lion key in back of police car on Finney st to Tiger key back of limo joe exotic st lol? What do you guys think?

Hi nice to meet you, Im pretty sure that is fine but I would be cautious. definitly dont make a one to one recreation though as it dose violate the terms and servace even if all the art and music is original

Personally, I wouldn't even dip my toe in those waters. Not worth it. Make a game like Silent Hill, call it something else. Problem solved.

By the NESmaker rules, we have to use original IPs only. Just to avoid ALL the bad things that could come from the owners. So, yeah, I don't suggest to make a Silent Hill game.
You could make a game inspired by Silent Hill... change the names and a few things of the story... and then, you 're safe
