Hope to make my first NES game.

Hey everyone.
My name's Chris and I am from Minnesota. I've been a gamer since the early 80's and I've always wanted to make my own game. I stumbled upon the NESMaker site and the rest is history.
While I have yet to actually purchase the software I've been doing a lot of research and planning and I plan to have it later this month.
You can expect to see more of me when I need help or feedback on the progress I've made.
I have also joined the Facebook group (which is awesome)
My goal is to make a really cool action/adventure game that's both challenging and engaging in all aspects. (Music, design, story) I'll have an emphasis on atmosphere as well to draw you in.
I know I have my work cut out for me!
if anyone is interested I have started a blog chronicling my journey.

See you all soon!

:D

Yeah your probably right, it'll be tougher than I imagine right now, but I've got some pixel art experience and music too so hopefully that helps.

Hey welcome guitar74man
Glad you joined us.
Yeah, NESmaker is a great tool to start creating your own NES game... of course, as suggested, first you will have to make small scope projects, to familiarize yourself with the tool, the limitations, the code, ....
Following the tutorials, you will learn a lot and enough to make fun games. And with all the resources on that forum, you can improve your projects for a more complex game.
Can't wait to follow your project.

Have fun!

Thanks so much. I was told similiar on the Facebook group, so yeah I'll do some small projects first until I get the gist down. Just a couple weeks until I have the software.
I'm really excited to start, going so far as actually dreaming about it.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Welcome @guitar74man

Those dreams will soon turn into nightmares. I'm joking, it's really fun and almost any concept is achievable. It sounds like a great game to make and a lot of work.
Check out Magnilo on Kickstarter (made with NesMaker), it's a similar project to yours, you might pick up some ideas.

All the best with it.
