Hud bug issues (v 4.1.5)

Paint your HUD area on the screen painter with the background subpalette you want it to be, using the Q W E R keys on your keyboard, on every screen you use the HUD in. That bug has been there for background HUDs since 4.1.5 and that's still the recommended workaround.

To add to Cutter's post, because of that bug, I even hand to paint every surrounding screen's HUD area with the HUD palette, even if it wasn't in use. Took a while to troubleshoot for me.

Actually, the NESmaker engine loads 2 screens at the same time and mixes the attributes (colors) of both HUD areas.

So, you need to paint with your "R" key (keyboard) on your HUD area (all the tiles) to set the subpalette4 AND you need to do the same with the screen next to your current screen (to the right), because like said, the engine always loads 2 screens at the same time.
