Some of your game tiles are pretty cool looking, looks like alien plant life from a retro-futuristic cartoon like the jetsons.
Making the tiles more varied in size and shape would really improve the look of the levels (like some rocks and plants could be wider/taller. if everything is a 16X16 object, it can look too grid-like.

without enemies or hazards the game is tedious, but Im sure you are working on that already

The plot is a fun idea, having to rebuild your spacecraft. I look forward to seeing this game when your further along.

Thank you for playing and thanks for the feed back! I forgot to mention the space suits extra lives trigger all the screens. If you collect one it removes all the monsters. I had done this so my composer could walk through all the levels and check the whole game out. I got so frustrated about my original post getting spammed I forgot. When I started making the game I was so certain I'd run out of tiles I made almost everything 16x16 out of concern for space(which of course I haven't used all of it). That and from playing D&D i got a little stuck in a grid mindset. I totally seen your point though. I will go back over things once I've nailed down all my layouts. Some of those larger sections could use some larger set pieces to break it up.
This is definitely my love letter to retro scifi. I really wanted to draw from all the pre star wars stuff. Old scifi magazine covers, flash gordon serials, b movies,, and definitely the Jetsons. Ok maybe a little star wars too.
