So I just started on this project its fairly new, I'm trying my best to make this gameplay and graphically good by myself. mainly will work on this in my spare time as well as monster slayer, there is no really plot yet, its just a basic platformer, with similar controls to platycat because alot of people seemed to like it, anyway here is a photo

the main problem I'm having at the moment is it takes like 10 minutes per screen because of all the stuff

Don't worry too much about the time spent on each screen. I'm sure you've got plenty of that to spare. Game is looking good. I love the use of black and also the white outline around the character!

made a few changes
1. remade the player from scratch (didnt work well with other color pallets)
2. made a hud with the beta text, will be changed latter
3. made a story and have a name to go along with it, here is a picture of the new player

No not really why, i should probably change it though if it dose, but I definitely want to meet the wittle face big body aspect

here is each frame, changed the colors and the body to try and show the idea of his beeg body, I'm having a lot of trouble making it look different, i think it has something to do with the one pixel outline shading witch makes me sad because it adds so much extra detail, some of the left overs of the old play are there, =_= sorry bought that

I would be careful with having both the background and and characters outline be black. It would blend in way too much with the background. Other than that, its a good start. There is nothing wrong with a character looking like another. It happens all the time. Hell even my character looks like a power ranger/Tatsunoko character. We could even say that he some what looks like the character from Star Tropics.

Yeah, originaly I thought the shoes didn’t stand out so I gave them a little white shine, it works perfectly, I tryed to make it work and it works actually pretty well
