Private message in forum bug?

When I click on anyone’s name it just says follow and ignore.. not start a conversation. Is there a setting I’m missing? Otherwise people have to message me to be able to PM.

Example:

Click on the mail icon next to your username. There should be the option to "Start a new conversation".
Click on that, and the rest should become obvious to you.

If I click that then it just shows the conversations that someone has sent me. I cannot start a new conversation just respond to whoever messages me.

That's really odd. Do you have any browser extentions/plugins that could possibly block elements like that?

Uh oh.. did I get in trouble? Hahah. Maybe I missed a verification email? I post from my iphone and two computers.. they all do the same thing.
