Small update. I decided to take a break from beating my head against the wall with the coding and work on the artwork. I updated the cutscene pictures for Panzer and Blarghe.

Blarghe:

You can REALLY see the defeat in Poor Blarghes eyes.

While I sorta like the original, new ones are definitely better.
Especially for the minotaur guy who I can't really make head nor tails of what I'm supposed to be looking at in the original.

I commisioned a boxart designer to put together some artwork for me. He's a local comic Book artist (Victoria BC) called Toothbooth10. I showed him my WIP, my webcomic, and a couple of picture of my old WoW character and said "Go to town!" This is what he came back with:

If you'd like to see more of his work he has a facebook page:

Is it expensive to commission artwork? I'd like something like that too but I've never commissioned anything before so wasn't sure how to go about it, whether they'd need mockups etc. It looks brilliant. Is that box mockup actual OEM Nintendo NES box size?

It really depends on the artist. Newbies can make you art for like 5 bucks or so, more seasoned veterans typically ask anything from 30 to 60 bucks, usually around 60 in colors and 90 if you want more than one character in your artwork. And if you want someone really talented to work for it, it can cost as much as 200bucks per piece.

I would personally ask about 40 bucks for my talent buuuuuuut, my graphire 3 doesn't work on modern windows'es and there's literally no drivers for it anywhere anymore
and I ain't getting new drawing tablet anytime soon.

Grokks Portrait got an upgrade tonight. I have a much better grasp of doing Pixel art from when I started back in December. Grokk was actually one of the first portraits I tackled. A big mistake I made was not using the 3 colors as much as I could - I used far to much black on my first attempt. I think Grokk looks ALOT more badass now.

Happy Easter everyone! Got a chance to do some serious work on this project! Thanks to @CluckFox for putting together a Healer code for me to use with the latest and final encounter. This is Hellwolf and his healer D.Muscles - the fight is basically a nightmare.

Another update. Got some work done on the Graphics for the Sarya/Ahzriaz Boss fight in level 4. This will also work as the tileset for the entire level. Pretty happy with this one!

Not bad at all. Quite a bit more unique for a boss than what I've seen thus far in this community as of yet.

Another Graphic update. I was told that "Blarghe looks like poo"... so I figured that was a good excuse to revisit his sprite. After his revision hes huge lol.

Had to Nerf Blarghe. Too many sprites to make him that big and it was starting to cause other issues. He lost a row of sprites but I think he actually looks a little better.
Also did a small fix on Hellwolfs Character Portrait that @SpiderDave suggested I do. :)
