Error following tutorial "Maze Tutorial - Basic" / Track-pad double-click issues

I was following along with this tutorial (https://vimeo.com/446685994/124b831417), and things worked on my PC as they did in the tutorial until around 7:57 where after leaving an "overworld" screen (by clicking the "overworld" button) you re-enter the screen by double-clicking that rectangle. Double-clicking does nothing on my setup. (Version 4.5.9 downloaded about a day ago.) I can delete the screen, after which I can open it again, but once I leave, I can't get back into what I had.

Trying a few more map blocks, the same thing happens there, even without doing anything on the screen except hitting the "Overworld" button to leave.

Yes. Closing and reopening the program didn't help. Trying again this morning the problem is intermittent. I can sometimes get in with effort on my laptop's track-pad, while it's a little easier with the buttons under the track-pad. I thought maybe I misjudged the speed-settings for double-click on my PC, but tested on the desktop with no issue, pad or buttons underneath. I can double-click at normal speed or fairly slowly on the desktop and still open files. Going back into the program and trying again, I'm now consistently getting in while double-clicking slowly, while my normal double-click pace (or double-clicking faster) is ignored with the trackpad. Back to the desktop and double-clicking quickly and files open with no issue. Given this happens on the track-pad itself but not the buttons underneath, I'd chalk it up to a trackpad driver issue. (Maybe Windows has a workaround and this program reads the input at a low enough level it doesn't receive the fix?)

TL;DR

If double-clicking doesn't work with your trackpad, slow down, use an actual mouse or use the buttons underneath the trackpad.
