Considering other paper types. Thought about the old penmanship paper with dotted lines too. I think wrinkled paper would be hard to pull off with the limitations of the palette.
I attempted a construction paper level but it wasn't turning out well so I scrapped it.

What I meant by npcs was more along the lines of the blocks from yoshis island that teach you how to play, Which could also be done using visuals, due to the audience and it would help th understand, especially due to the fact that most kids of its target demographic don’t know how to read. Just wanted to make my suggestion a little less vague.n8bit said:codingkid01 said:I like it but i think the monsters would work better as scribbles with angry eyes on them. i think the pencil and eraser would be better as NPCs, Otherwise, its very cool!
Oh man that is a great idea! Might have to test that out. I found that after I made the eraser and pencil I had a hard time thinking of other monsters to make. Because of my anticipated audience and design I don't plan on using NPCs but might find a way to implement the erasers and pencils for something else.

Would be really cool if the power ups were things that allowed you to change how you interact with the environment. Thinking stuff like Megaman's power ups.
