I've released a small update to my Byte-Off III Entry "Get It Together!" based on feedback I've received, and figured I could create a thread and see if there's any other suggestions people have

NEW FEATURES:
  • 4 more levels
  • some graphical updates
  • cutscene skipping
  • reset level by pausing and hitting select (costs a life)
  • added gameplay feature that prevents merging parts if there is no clearance (prevents getting stuck)
CONTROLS:

UP: enter doorway/ move ghost up
DOWN: Pick up a bodypart / move ghost down
LEFT: Move left
RIGHT: Move right
A: Jump (if possible)
B: Punch (if possible)
SELECT: Drop bodypart, Reset level when paused
START: Pause / Unpause / skip ahead in cutscene

Please let me know if you find a bug or have a suggestion for future development/Changes

Hey Brad, just played through it. Love it - would be great to add a Level counter in the Hud so that you can see how far you got.
And maybe it's just me but the when you combine the head with the torso - the graphics seem odd. The head seems not to be centered on the torso. Didn't noticed this during the byte off demo. Otherwise - fun and engaging game !

You've got a sharp eye! yeah, the torso is actually holding up the head in its arm, because my plan was/is to have the torso "toss" the head when they separate. this would be a way of solving some puzzles, but I didn't complete that part in time.

Here's a poster of how all the combos looked (i have tweaked them a bit)poster.png

ah - great idea - that explains it =) Can't wait for the full game!
I am currently working through the Pikuma class "NES Programming with 6502 Assembly" by Gustavo Pezzi. It's really awesome - you learn definitely a lot a it will probably help me later when tweaking my own games with NESMaker.
But I am only 32% done with the course -but man - the 50 bucks are really well spent.
