NESmaker is a great tool to start making NES games. The tutorial videos from the official site will teach you how the tool works, how to setup the different modules in order to make your first games. With your experience with Godot it might not be too complicated.
On the forum, there are a ton of custom scripts to go further (after the tutorials) to implement new features to your projects, and also fixes, answers to a lot of your questions, projects, ideas, ...
