How to go about selling games?

Is anyone else planning on selling their games?
If so how do you plan on doing it, and marketing it?
Also, do you plan on directly stating (on the case) that the game is for the nes?
I'd really appreciate any answers.

I was planning on selling mine eventually. Right now I was just planning on putting it up on Steam. Haven't really got the details completely worked out yet though. Regards to Marketing- I know around my area they have occasional video game jams and stuff. Put a couple of YouTube videos up. Maybe get someone to Stream your game or something. You also might consider building a small website around it.

I am no expert but I'd follow Doom and other early games where a demo or level is free and if you want the rest of the game you have to purchase it. In the case of roms/digital I'd say it'd have to be a low cost with a more expensive cartridge/manual and possibly a box for collectors. Also email your favourite youtubers and ask them to maybe review the game to market it. A free website is also a good idea or Facebook page for it or something.
I think you can say it is for the Nintendo Entertainment System but not use their logo or anything and probably a small print disclaimer it is not affiliated or endorsed by Nintendo. Check with a lawyer maybe but if you are making an original game I think Nintendo will not be bothered by it.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone with a top notch game asks Nintendo for a Seal of Quality and gets it. Won't be me but I know in time some games will be produced to rival the best the system has to offer.

Thanks, I'm already planning to release level one as the demo,
I just was curious what other people were planning to do.

Also, I was planning on asking "The8BitGuy" to review it, but we'll see as he's not a fan of reviews.

Again, thanks for responding guys! :)

That's pretty cool. I hope he does as 8bitguy does good work. I like his old computer and keyboard vids, especially his teardown and repair vids and he does review games and products sometimes.

I love his restoration videos as well, and I'm hoping him showing my game to his audience will boost puclicity.

I would suggest other youtubers as well who are more game related as the 8 Bit Guy (only seen a few videos) seems more hardware focused but he has a large subscriber base. I have a feeling some of the bigger Retro Game Youtubers will be doing videos on new NESmaker games once more full, complete games are finished.
