Hello,

I like the NES a lot, but on HD screen it is shitty...
I'm wondering if i bought today a NES classic mini, will it be possible to play Nesmaker homemade games with it ?
I presume that out of the box it will not...

I don't need a tutorial, just an answear if it's possible or not :) (found another thread locked so maybe i break some rules now :/ )

Thanks :)

Yes you could, here for the tutorial:

As written, you would need to install a special firmware.
Then you can install your NESMaker games

I did a google search of Battle Kid 2 on the Mini and I couldn't find anything...BK2 runs on mapper 030.

EDIT: Oh, good share Dale. I couldn't find anything...

yeah, hakchi is extremely simple to get up and running.
just need to grab retroarch and the fceumm core.
then for each game, you just right click on it and point it to fceumm,
and boom they work right out of the box.

made for a cheap testing platform in the bedroom for the GF, while flashed carts can go in the avs.

These days, there are a lot of great options for playing NES games (and therefore NESmaker games) on an HD TV. The RetroUSB AVS is great for playing cartridges on an HDTV, but also great if you have an Everdrive N8. An Analogue NT is good too, but I hear they're harder to procure.

If you're partial to the original hardware, there's an HDMI mod that you can have installed in your old NES systems called the Hi-Def NES. And by far the most affordable option is a Raspberry Pi installed with RetroPi for around $20-$30 (Raspbery Pi Zero, plus case and inexpensive microSD card), it just requires a bit of know-how and setup.

And of course, the aforementioned NES Classic, which is a great option as well, and isn't quite as pricey as an AVS or Analogue NT.

Whatever you do, though, don't go for the clone consoles, as they won't play Mapper 30 cartridges. Stuff like the Retron 5 won't do the trick.
