Hiya everyone! I'm Marisa! I've been wanting to make an NES game for ages. I have ROM hacking and pixel art experience and I work with a small indie studio who made and published games on the Wii U. NESMaker and ASM itself seems like a different beast, where with modern tech we just cheat to achieve the 8-bit aesthetic. I hope you guys can have some patience for a little newbie like me here.

NESmaker is a great tool to start making NES games. The tutorial videos from the official site will teach you how the tool works, how to setup the different modules in order to make your first games.

On the forum, there are a ton of custom scripts to go further (after the tutorials) to implement new features to your projects, and also fixes, answers to a lot of your questions, projects, ideas, ...

Hello. Nice to hear you're going 8bit legit! You can also bring some ideas over from your modern game dev. A lot is possible even with NES. Looking forward to seeing your projects or maybe even some of your older modern dev work if you wanted to share.
