Hello,

After purchasing NESMaker several years ago, I got distracted with life and haven't really touched it. My son (11) is getting into retro gaming, so we both remembered I bought this software and are actually going to make use of it this time! Our cart and cart programmer just showed up recently, and although I don't have my original console anymore, we do have a RetroN 5.

I used to dabble in assembly in the late 80's early 90's with the Commodore 64. I feel much at home and hope to brush up on my 6502 assembly.

I also do a lot of electronics design (i own a tech company), as well as embedded software development, so I am a bit inspired to dabble in cart design at some point. I also have a full line of SMT equipment that i bought last year (solder paste printer, pick and place, and reflow oven), so technically i could even have them assembled or provide assembly services if anyone was interested. We do fun side projects in between our production runs.

Hey @RainNW

Glad you (finally) join us :)
NESmaker is a fun tool to start creating NES games... it might be very useful for working with non coder or kids (I use to work with my son since he's 5, now he's 10 and still enjoys creating games with NESmaker)

My advice, before deep diving into NESmaker, follow the tutorial series on the official webpage
- the "12 days of NESmas" series
- all the module specific tutorial videos (you can skip the "beginner" ones, you won't learn anything from those videos)
Here on the forum you'll find a lot of custom scripts, community tutorial to fix a few issues or implement new features, resources, answers to your questions...

Feel free to share your projects (check the "Finished Games & Demos" and "WIP" sections).

Have fun!
