I added a key and lock tiles system to this game. I'm Still slowly working on game mechanics. Haven't really done too much with any art/graphics yet. I have an idea about how the story will go. I think I'm going to create some warp tiles and make it kind of like a choose your own adventure type thing. The story will branch you off into different directions based on which path you choose. So possibly different outcomes and different bosses along the way? Then I want to have different weapons that can do different damage to the different bosses? Still in the way early works though. More to come in the future.

A rough draft of what the single screen/non scrolling levels will be like. Looking into getting scrolling/and non-scrolling working together.

I put about 6 hours into this game tonight, reimagining the story. Redesigning monsters and level layout. I still have a tiny bug, where when I get warped in from one of the start screens the Player Object is always messed up looking. Any ideas how to fix this , anyone??? Here are the fruits of my labors:

Next things to work on:

1. Metroid Style Doorways - shoot them and then they turn accessible.
2. More Monsters!
3. A first level Boss!
4. Give my green "moat" a little more moaty feeling, maybe add some physics somehow to that specific tile.
