Not so sure I can do this this way it’s really insanely hard, also I’m not the good at recognizing pitches and my timing skills are trash , maybe when I get a bit better at that, for now I will stick to picking a scale and making a song based off what I want and using notes mainly from the scale I choose

Haha yeah I wish I could play an instrument.

Actually the reason a lot of my songs sound repetitive is because I think of them when I'm out and about, at work or driving. Then I get so caught up in trying not to forget the tune that I end up whistling what I can remember over and over again... But then when I go to record the song... It's all I can remember of the tune... And when I need to "make more"... I can't... lol because all I can think is to loop it...

So I've got to learn how to break that mentality or most of my songs will just be 15-45 second loops.

Other times there tunes that come to me that I simply can't whistle... so those tunes just poof away...

I have whistled concept versions of most of my 8bit tunes...

For fun here are two that I plan to work on in the future (However before you click, turn DOWN your volume. The recordings are rough, I tried to make it so it won't bleed your ears.)
Action Fight Concept
NesMaker Byte Off Song 1
I think I'm gonna take a stab at the Action Fight Concept tomorrow if that's okay with you, I have some ideas to "2A03ify" that tune.

Oh yeah go for it, I tried to do it last night and literally couldn't figure out what note it starts on... lol XD I THINK it starts on E... But I threw in the towel after an hour XD Sadly happens more than you'd think

I 100% agree with you... Many of my songs recently are created by just going in and beep-booping the keyboard until I hear something I like... Or an experiment with with things like "kicks" and stuff

yeah, i find it works much better when you just go off how you feel and what you like at that current moment

Hmm, the 2nd instrument seems to play a big part with the pitch, mind if I use it for some tests?

its like a chaottic boss theme, i figured out that the leed is good becuse it is made with the atributes of a human wisteling, there is usually a werid starting pitch but its quickly changed, aswell humans can really maintain a pitch for a long time so at the end a pitch shifter happens, the base is simple an octave of the previouse not in the base, the lead i just spastically wrote litterly anything, and the chords are for chord progeression

this took me like ten minutes, but if you where to put alot of time into it you would eventually end up with something sounding really close to what he wrote

I like it Logana! This whole thing has inspired me to go out and start studying some more. I want my stuff to sound that good. I think I'm going to go back and remake some of my songs too when I figure it out.
