What type of game will you make?

That'll be fun. Like crossovers, references, and inside jokes between the games. Be developing your own ingame universe.

I didn't play many of the Kirby games, but they always looked fun. I need to go back and actually play them, but I always like when games do that, throwbacks to their older games. Like the 2D parts of Mario Odyssey or the easter egg in Mario RPG.
My games are probably going to have a lot of throwbacks to eachother. Like, characters from one game might be mythological legends in another or something like that. Just small cameos to eachother.

Yeah, some of the characters I'm using for Parallel Worlds are actually references to my first game on PC: The Legend of Takemaru.

Although, that game was more just me messing around with game development in general, so it's not going to be canon to anything.

Makes sense and a few of my early games in NESmaker will be like that, used mostly to just learn the nuances of the program before I start on anything major.

I loved Zelda 2 and also wondered why, it was a nice balance of overhead, side-scrolling and adventure, rpg. Your game sounds like a lot of fun digit2600.

Zelda 2 was a weird surreal experience.even though I read that it was rushed, the team seemed to really be overflowing with creativity. They packed a lot of depth into that game, and it always stuck with me.

Zelda 2 was the first zelda game I'd every played. And having come off of Mario 1 and 2/usa I really enjoyed it. I thought of it as an adventure style Mario and was baffled when later it would be thought of the black sheep. Granted a link to the path and link's awakening were amazing when they came out and I enjoyed them way more but Zelda 2 I never considered a bad experience at all even after I did play zelda 1 for the first time and it kicked my butt.

Usually when they come up with a core idea, they refine it as the game goes along and polish it up. Miyamoto has gone on record as saying that zelda 2 was basically just the core idea they came up with. What was on the page is what became the game.

My son wants to make a ninja turtles character style plateform or beat them all game.
He has a lot of ideas for monsters, items and weapons.
I told him we might be able to make his game (or demo of it) and play it on the TV, this year ;)
He started to draw his ideas to not forget everything and polish them.

That's going to be fun, both designing and making the game. I look forward to seeing what you two come up with as I love side scrolling beat'em ups and brawlers.

Yeah, will be fun but I think it will be more like a demo than a real game ;) I will post about it (if my son keeps his motivation ;)) Ahah

Difficult to say, August may be just too far away in the life of a child, though that mystery machine cabinet in the background makes for some nice inspiration. I'd loved to have had one of those when I was a kid for sure. I was so obsessed with arcade machines as a kid.

Yes, I will help him write all his ideas down, let him prepare some drawing when still inspired / motivated. And then small pause until I start making the small game and show him the progress, time to time ;)
The Mystery Machine arcade cab is his favorite game at home for sure, we play almost every Saturday since he’s 3. Beat’em up are his favarites games (co-op 2 players) ;)

There are so many great ones that came out in the arcades. Double dragon, teenage mutant ninja turtles, the simpsons, dungeons & dragons, sailormoon, golden axe, cadillacs and dinosaurs, ninja baseball bat man, x-men... I could just go on and on.

I am going to try to create a adventure game like The Legend of Zelda series, Secret of Mana series, Final Fantasy Adventures(Gameboy), Terranigma(Super Nintendo), Illusion of Gaia(Super Nintendo), Elders Scroll series(PC) and Fallout series(PC).

Hello, everyone... Since there's only two days before NESMaker is released, I would like to share one of my Ideas here too.

The player will find himself/herself stranded on a fabled island alone. The island will be rumored to have granted many wishes over the passage of time, but the player will be able to only have one wish granted. They will be prompted to choose food, tools, fire, shelter, or none. At the start of the game is the only opportunity the player will have. If there will be a way to make it so players can save their games (which I might suggest in the appropriate forum), I will give the player the option to save their progress on the island. The player will have to survive for 14 days. Each day will be assigned different tasks, and there will be a score for each day. At the end of each day, any tasks completed the day they are assigned will award bonus points, as well as a "perfect" bonus for completing all of the tasks for the day amongst other things. However, any tasks not completed that day will carry over to the next day for half bonus points (Meaning, for each task assigned, completing after zero days will award 2000, after one day will award 1000, 500 after two days, 250 after three days, and then it just loses bonus value after four days). Also, Health, Food Level and Drink Level will also be factored into the bonus score for each day. The perfect bonus will be worth more as it gets harder, or as you progress through the days.

I like it. This is a fun castaway style game idea. Reminds me a lot of the minecraft survival island challenges with a bit of harvest moon. It's going to be exciting seeing this game come together.

I'd like to share my game too! So, it is a Zelda-type adventure top-down.

Abstract: You are a Greek citizen named Pharmakos living in Delphi, Greece circa 600-500 BC (Northwest of Athens). You come to your senses alone in a field. You can’t remember anything. You soon discover that many people are being rude to you, others are attacking you, and some are reluctantly willing to help you. But why are people treating you either extremely poorly or even trying to physically harm you? It is up to Pharmakos to discovery the answers to these questions.
As Pharmakos fights his way through Delphi he slowly learns of the Delia. Pharmakos must survive his adventure and find the cure to his situation - literally. Can he save himself in time? Or will he be another victim of the Delia? Is his fate in the hands of the gods, or can he use his free will to take his destiny into his own hands? Only time will tell.

The art style will be ancient Greek.

Yeah, too bad I can't come up with the money to purchase the software right now...

I'm planning to make a JRPG game, like Earthbound or Undertale. I wanna have a way to make it save of course, just like the first Zelda.

The first game I'll probably make in NESmaker is a sequel to my ZX Spectrum game Blimpgeddon.
blimpgeddon.gif
Depending upon if scrolling is working in many months I'll do scrolling levels, otherwise it'll be flick screen like the original.
